FAITH4HOPE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Faith4Hope Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.

Faith4Hope Scholarship Fund is a 501c3 non-profit organization established by Faith Dixon and C. Hope Shields in 2016 in Fargo, ND. We saw the need to help the many families that cannot afford the necessities to provide for their families. Faith4Hope is has one of the fastest growing and busiest Food Pantries on the north side of Fargo serving the F-M community. At the end of 2020, we had served well over 1000 families and have given over 200,000 pounds of food.

Faith4Hope is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our non-profit organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. Through our programs; Back2School Backpack Giveaway, Thanksgiving Basket, Christmas in the Dakotas, Food Pantry, Joyfest, Juneteenth, and After-School Matters Community Center, we are committed to helping the BIPOC community and low-income families achieve equality and lasting independence.

The problem of poverty is complex. It won’t yield to a simple solution or a quick fix. It requires an integrated approach that begins with meeting immediate needs while working to reach further to help people achieve independence and alleviate the root causes of poverty. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good. Our board is empowered by creating opportunities for individuals within our communities.

Vision Statement on Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Our vision is to cultivate and champion a community of changemakers that values racial equity, diversity, and inclusion by deepening our intentional commitment in the opportunity areas of creating brave spaces, valuing voices, and living our values.

Opportunity Areas

Faith4Hope will focus on three opportunity areas in 2022 to deepen our intentional commitment and fulfillment of this vision:

1. Creating Brave Spaces: Pro-actively creating a safe environment to have conversations across differences and Faith4Hope related topics & issues. Staff and leadership will participate in learning sessions designed to increase their knowledge and empower them to engage authentically, courageously, and respectfully internally and across the community.

2. Valuing All Voices: Inviting and valuing all voices in the organization. Staff will participate in learning sessions that support the development and integration of practices that encourage and formalize all Team members to share and feel heard, including ways to share and celebrate diversity in all its facets. It is valuable to note that our community will disagree and will have varying involvement in organizational decision-making processes. This area we focus on creating space to share and be heard.

3. Living Our Values: Ensuring what we do at Faith4Hope reflects these previous commitments and values. This area involves operationalizing our previous two goals into department strategies to maximize effectiveness. Measurable goals will be developed to monitor progress and keep this work at the forefront as we strategically think of what’s next in our sustained commitment to our vision.
